"Love does not raise its hands but takes you by the hand". The initiative on the day of the 25 November
Red hands and black and white photos. A choral initiative against gender-based violence. On the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the ACLI of Cagliari, IPSIA Sardinia, Amal Sardinia together with all the Circles and citizens will unite with the aim of spreading a strong message: A photographic project and a large white billboard, decorated with red hands and meaningful phrases, to symbolize awareness and solidarity.
“Love doesn't raise its hands but takes you by the hand” – phrase by Micaela Pastucci – is the name given to the event: «Every face photographed, Every hand drawn and every writing represents a tangible sign of the commitment to be carried out daily for the fight against gender-based violence. An effort that needs the contribution of all those who believe in the importance of this battle to achieve the result – says Rosy Dessì, head of the Acli Cagliari women's coordination –. That's why, this year, the 25 November from 9.30 all 12.30, we have decided to set up meeting points in various municipalities in the area of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and the province of Southern Sardinia, in which the Acli Circles are present, All on the same day and at the same time. We will be present with many associations active in the area, also to spread the daily activities to protect women in difficulty and let all those who need support know that they are not alone»

- Elmas – open space in front of the Civic Market
- Mandi – Via Cagliari in front of Palazzo Municipio
- Gesico – Viale Umberto
- Decimomannu – Piazza De Gasperi
During the day, hand-shaped cards will be distributed on which passers-by can leave their thoughts or tell their experiences. Testimonials, the photos and posters will then be displayed in the area and published on the website of the Acli of Cagliari and on social networks, with the aim of raising awareness among the widest number of people and highlighting the day and all those who wanted to contribute.
The event is organized by the women's coordination of the provincial Acli of Cagliari together with ACLI Cagliari, to the girls and boys of the Civil Service of the Acli of Cagliari, to Young people of Acli, a IPSIA Sardinia, a Common Good Sardinia is Amal Sardinia.
