Beach Cleanup Poetto

Friday 4 November beach cleanup at Poetto

Every year over 14 millions of tons of plastic end up in the sea. In the Mediterranean alone, 229,000 tons a year. WWF data portrays a serious health situation, ours and all the species that inhabit the seabed.

Everyone can and must do their part. for that, as part of the module on active citizenship linked to the National Civil Service project, the ACLI have decided to organize for next Friday 4 November an afternoon of cleaning the Poetto beach.

"It's an important issue., especially in a city that lives on the sea like Cagliari. Being aware citizens also means being responsible and acting directly, where possible, to make your contribution – says the head of the initiative Blessed Iannelli –. We decided to act together with our Civil Service volunteers, but anyone willing to help out is welcome!”.

The stretch of beach affected by the cleaning is the one from the first stop to follow, based also on the participation of citizens.

The appointment is for hours 14.30 at the beginning of the pedestrian area of Viale Poetto (starting from the first stop). Participants must be provided with gloves, while the envelopes are made available by the Municipality of Cagliari. Comfortable clothing is recommended, a hat and a bottle of water.

For information you can contact the provincial ACLI of Cagliari at 070 43039 or mail acliprovincialicagliari@gmail.com.

In case of bad weather the initiative is considered canceled.
