The photo contest to say NO to gender violence is underway

"It's “Violence against women” any act of gender-based violence that causes harm or physical suffering, sexual or psychological for women, including threats, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty". The first article of the UN Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women clarifies the need to combat gender-based violence in all its forms, from the physical to the forms of psychological pressure, which may be less immediately apparent but just as serious.

To shine a light on the issue of gender-based violence, as part of the Family project 2.0 co-financed by the Fondazione di Sardegna, the Acli Provinciali di Cagliari aps, the Regional Women's Coordination of ACLI and the Coordination of women of the Province of Cagliari is IPSIA Sardinia have decided to organize a photo contest entitled "VOICE"- What women Not they say". The goal is to give space to the creativity of the participants who will be free to reinterpret, in a personal key, The theme of the competition.

«In view of the 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women Refers the contact person of the Regional Women's Coordination of the ACLI Blessed Iannelli we decided to launch a photo contest to collect photographic material through which to give VOICE to women. The idea was born as part of the civil service project "NO TO GENDER VIOLENCE" in which young volunteers are committed to identifying tools and opportunities to raise awareness among citizens. Photography thus becomes the art through which to draw attention to a theme on which disclosure and awareness is never enough».

Within the 16 November 2022 photography enthusiasts, Professionals and amateurs will be able to transmit their photographic work, accompanied by a short caption to tell the meaning of the shot and the message they would like to convey. All works, with their captions, in compliance with the regulation, will be published on a dedicated page that will be shared on the Facebook and Instagram pages of the ACLI and submitted to popular judgment. The photo he will have collected, on the date of 25 November, the highest number of votes will be declared the winner of the competition.

«Once the competition is over, according to the material collected – continues the referent – we would like to organize an exhibition in the Cagliari headquarters and traveling in the territorial ACLI circles, in order to promote our awareness-raising initiatives in a widespread manner».

To the winner of the competition, ranked 1st, you will be given the opportunity to attend for free, during the year 2023, two courses of your choice among those offered by the organizing associations of the event.
