Giacomo Carta elected president of the Provincial Acli of Cagliari
Giacomo Carta is the new provincial president of the Acli of Cagliari. The election took place yesterday evening, at the first meeting of the new provincial council in office since last 3 October.
Paper, Class 1987, he was born in Cagliari and raised in Elmas, where he is a city councilman since 2016. Worked as a street educator, from 2014 was the provincial coordinator of the Acli Youth, continued commitment at the national level 2017. From 2019 is vice-president vicar of the National Youth Council (advisory body of the national government).
"I came into contact with the Acli in the 2011, almost by accident. I was looking for a civil service project and I applied. I found a hospitable association, able to bring out the best from people, a healthy place to express one's passions and make one's contribution to the service of the community", he says.
The new president replaces the outgoing Mauro Carta: "Thanks go to him for the great work he has done in recent years, for the countless activities and for the many projects started and completed - continues -. I'd like to go on the path traced by my predecessor. Especially at a time like this, marked by the pandemic, Acli must be the protagonists, do more and more in supporting people in need, in the support and training of those who are struggling to return to the world of work, in the promotion of active citizenship'.
But not only: "We want to set ourselves the objective of continuing and enhancing the aclist tradition of the political and social formation of young people ", concludes Carta, "to participate actively in democratic processes by carrying on the Christian values that have always distinguished us".
