Congress to be held in Cagliari at the Holiday Inn hotel. The new provincial council of the Acli will be elected later this morning.

ACLI 2020. More Equals: we live in the present, let's build tomorrow. This is the title chosen for the XXIX provincial congress of ACLI Cagliari to be held next Saturday 3 October at the hotel Holiday Inn (Avenue Umberto Ticca) Capital. The congress was originally scheduled for March but was postponed due to the Covid-19 emergency.

Throughout the day, the association that has more than 6,000 members on the territory of South Sardinia, will elect the new board that will remain in office four years. The congress will be an opportunity to draw the guidelines for the future and take stock of the activity carried out by Acli Cagliari in the council that is closing, from social initiatives to projects in international training and cooperation, assistance to families and the elderly, policies for young people in the country and abroad.

In recent months, in preparation for the event, a series of pre-congress meetings were held on the territory, during which the clubs have identified their own delegates.

"Every four years we meet to celebrate a new beginning of our business, but above all to rediscover together the fundamentals of our identity: Work, Democracy and the Church– says the outgoing president Mauro Charter –. For me, in particular, will be an opportunity to do an analysis of the activities carried out. It will be an important moment of confrontation for our association, which is facing the new challenges that change imposes".

Work will begin at 9 with a moment of spiritual reflection, Archbishop Mons is expected to speak. Giuseppe Baturi. So, following the outgoing President's report and the debate, seats will be opened for the vote of the new Provincial Council, who will then elect its president.
