Discovering Ogliastra, A fascinating combination of unspoiled nature and thousand-year-old archaeological evidence.
Reservations are open for the trip to Ogliastra organized for the 6 April from FAP – Federation of Elderly and Pensioners of the Provincial ACLI of Cagliari: A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of the Santa Barbara Forest and in the archaeological treasures of S'Arcu 'e Is Forros is Sa Carcaredda.

The activity is part of the social action of the association, aimed at promoting and encouraging aggregative experiences that can contribute to the maintenance of an active life for the elderly.
The program includes departure by bus from Decimomannu and Sestu. In the morning there will be a visit to the Bosco di Santa Barbara, located a few kilometers from Villagrande Strisaili. In addition to its luxuriant vegetation of centuries-old holm oaks and Mediterranean scrub, The forest preserves numerous archaeological remains, including tombs of the giants, nuraghi and ancient Nuragic villages that testify to the human presence since the Bronze Age. Afterwards, there will also be a visit to the archaeological sites of S'Arcu 'e Is Forros and Sa Carcaredda, Two Nuragic complexes of great historical value. The first represented an important village-sanctuary and metallurgical center of the Bronze Age, with a megaron temple and structures most likely intended for metal casting. The second, instead, It preserves a Nuragic temple and a monumental tomb of giants and offers a fascinating testimony of the funerary practices of antiquity.
The program includes lunch at the Santa Barbara Restaurant.
