Women's Tours with ACLI: A series of initiatives to discover the women who have marked our history

On the occasion of International Women's Rights Day, the Acli of Cagliari in collaboration with Ipsia Sardegna, ACLI Women's Coordination – regional and provincial, FAP Acli Cagliari, Create Acli, Amal Sardegna Morocco promoted the initiative Women's Tour.

The project, organized as part of the Universal Civil Service project No to gender-based violence, for the dissemination of the culture of equality, intends to involve the community in a socio-cultural initiative focused on the enhancement of some female figures linked to significant places in the territories where the ACLI circles operate.

"The idea comes from the volunteers involved in the No to gender violence project – explains the Women Coordination Referent of the ACLI of Sardinia Blessed Iannelli –. We were looking for a
Alternative way to celebrate March 8, also by prolonging the effects and not limiting the initiatives to a single day, but providing more days, with the aim of drawing attention
of citizenship on women who have made the history of our city. In addition, thanks to the involvement of all the volunteers of the SCU of the circles of the Provincial ACLI of
Cagliari, you will be able to leave the city of Cagliari, and learn about the history of other women and places in other municipalities where our clubs are active".

The first stop of the tour is in Cagliari on 30 March at 15.00. It will start from the Municipal Art Gallery inside the Public Gardens of Cagliari, continuing to Porta Cristina, Piazzetta Mafalda di Savoia, Piazzetta Mercede Mundula, Palazzo Regio and ending with the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and Santa Cecilia.

The initiative, reserved for people in possession of the ACLI card 2023, is free. Possible costs, at the expense of the participants, are due to the purchase of the ticket for access to some monuments.
