With a capital S: Friday 13 January the evening dedicated to sign language and inclusion
Until the Second World War, deaf people were denied basic rights such as property or marriage.. Even today, Problems of communication with others heavily affect their existence and that of their families, making access to information and culture difficult, education and training.
Precisely to stimulate reflection and debate on the world of deafness and on the possibilities of interaction and integration between deaf and hearing people, Friday 13 January starting 17 the ACLI provinciali di Cagliari Organize, in collaboration with the association Mediation and Foundation of Sardinia, a meeting on the importance of LIS sign language.
During the evening, which will be held at the headquarters of the Fondazione di Sardegna in via San Salvatore da Horta 2 Cagliari, will be screened "With a capital S: tongue, Deaf culture and identity”. This documentary by 2020 directed by Marco Spanu is Roberto Farace shows the daily life of four deaf people between families, job, Interests and leisure.
"We believe it is necessary to put the issue at the center of the debate., often forgotten, the importance of communication for deaf people and their families – says the president of ACLI Cagliari James Card –. The theme of inclusion of people with disabilities has always been central to the action of ACLI, at this juncture we decided to organize a workshop on Italian sign language LIS in our headquarters in our headquarters ".
