Criminal Institute for Minors

Meeting at’Quartucciu Juvenile Criminal Institute

Sunday 25 January, a group of young college students (enrolled in law degree courses, science education, social services sciences and psychology) professionals interested in juvenile matters, including psychologists and lawyers, attended the meeting organized by the F4CR network in collaboration with the Cagliari Provincial Acli at the IPM, Quartucciu Juvenile Criminal Institute.

The meeting is part of a course of training on juvenile justice, a cycle of experiences that the F4CR network and the Acli have designed to help spread the concepts of active citizenship and legality by opening the doors of reality in close contact with young offenders and/or exhaling punishment ("The Hill" community, IPM – juvenile prison and Juvenile Court) so as to offer a multiple chorus of voices.

The exception guide was Dr.. Pumpkin, Director of the IPM, who along with the prison police staff accompanied the group of boys and boys to the First Reception Centre (C.P.A.) outlining the reasons and context in which young people who commit crimes are found and, Later, allowed us to visit other areas of the prison facility with passage and access to different wards (carpentry workshop, Laundry, kitchen, Dorm, external area).
