We're all the same

Immigration and knowledge. Arrive in schools “We're all the same”

The project of Acli of Cagliari to promote dialogue and knowledge of migratory phenomena.

A year of research laboratories, of storytelling and communication, creating an animated short and movies all focused on immigration. These are the project activities “We're all the same”, promoted by Acli provincials of Cagliari and aimed at lower and upper secondary schools in the province of Cagliari.

The ACLI provinciali di Cagliari arrive in schools with a project involving some schools- students, teachers and families – present in Cagliari, Iglesias, Gesico, Ussaramanna, Vallermosa, Pau and Elmas. The project, Thanks to the collaboration of Acli and local institutions, aims to inform students about the phenomenon of migration through direct searching of information and the analysis of the phenomenon by the same guys who, driven by insurance brokers and educators and animators of the activities, they can then get an idea of the different aspects of the topic. For a more analytical and reflective of the project, This will be followed by the creative, in which the boys – with the help of experts – will compete in direct account of migration, carrying out interviews on the field, a movie and a short animated film that tells a story developed by the same guys.

The project, stresses Otto Cannon, President of Acli Provinciali di Cagliari, is part of a broader action of combating discrimination and racism that lately are looking more and more like our island. Awareness and knowledge of foreign cultures that live for decades in our territories is a way to increase culturally all citizens, creating a climate of cooperation and social cohesion. Through educational experiences, boys can be so virtuous process initiators of respect for others and mutual understanding and to set an example and encouragement to their peers and to society as a whole.
