Cold: the Acli volunteers distribute warm clothing

On the occasion of the great cold of these days, the project volunteers "We live recycling" distribute to those who need heavy clothing. The distribution will take place on 17 January and the following days, in Cagliari and in the municipalities of the Hinterland, with a van that will travel the streets of downtown, stopping sensitive points of individual municipalities.

We recycle "is a project born in 2015, promoted by Acli provinciali di Cagliari. The project combines a passion for tailoring with solidarity and protection of the environment through the original and creative recovery of used clothes and accessories. Starting from their collection, the old clothes take two ways: After being washed thoroughly, the Chiefs will be repaired and made available to those who need or, When no longer able to repair, they are recycled as fabrics for new couture creations. From 2015 to date, the project involved gradually the different clubhouses Acli of Cagliari province, and four young beneficiaries of community service projects.

With "We recycle" promoting recovery of damaged clothing and creative reuse of tissues takes place through the sewing classes in several clubs in the province of Cagliari. All activities take place in the lab "Live recycling" in Decimonannu (CA) Via Aldo Moro. The collection of the clothes is made though in all Acli circles in the province and covers:

  • used clothing in General although not in perfect condition

  • used shoes in good condition

  • accessories and bags used in good condition

  • sheets and blankets in good condition

  • toys

  • books

  • glasses

With this initiative, the Acli Cagliari undertake alongside the other provincial associations that took to the field in these chilly days outstanding, to provide immediate help to those who are in difficult situation.
