Emigration, immigration and depopulation: the 29 January's data presentation 2015


In order to discuss and debate on the issue of emigration, immigration and depopulation in the territory of Sardinia, the Acli organize a workshop of research presentation: “Analysis of migration and depopulation in Sardinia”.

The seminar will take place on Friday 29 January 2016 at 18, in Via Roma 173 Cagliari.

The research presentation, conducted by Dr.. Mauro paper and by Dr.. Marco Sideri, It will begin with a careful analysis of change that affects the flow of migrants today than the migration of the past, where the movement from the south to the north allowed millions of people to aspire to increasing job opportunities with the transition from being a farm laborer to that of workers in specialized industries.

To date the numbers change, the goals and the protagonists of demographic transitions; are young people who have high academic qualifications to build careers and personal out of the dynamics of the Sardinian territory. The progressive removal of our young decrees, in fact, a phenomenon that becomes stable and worrisome in terms of deprivation of their human capital before production. Along with the aging of the population, consequently, the low birth rate, Sardinia is now part of a process of demographic decline of the area that will bring with it a situation of major social unrest. Given the premises, it is important that migration encounters the phenomenon of immigration and welcome him as a normal factor, structural and, as a factor of improvement of human development, capable of bridging forces and minds that the territory of Sardinia is losing.

The seminar will be, also, opportunity to reflect on the difficulties that the population of Sardinia meets in the hall in the labor market, the reasons that revolve around the decision to an increasing proportion of young people to emigrate, in Italy, in Europe and in the world compared to the statistics of those who choose our country as a country of arrival.

Speakers include: Romina Walls – Mayor of Sadali, Valter Piscedda – Mayor of Elmas, Tam Mai – President Acli Sardinia, Giuseppe Dessi – Create Acli.

End ’ Councilor local authority regional interventions l Christian Erriu.

The evening will end with a debate, where participants will discuss the issues related to migration and immigration, change and the opportunities associated with it.
